Last night there were
full of stars up in the sky, and weather turned to be rainy. At 6:00 woke up
with heavy rainfall. Luckily it stopped at 7:00 and blue sky above me at 8:00
when I started. Passed trail I have camped in 30 minutes, and walked on a sealed
road rest of the day. Needed some water but here was no water supply on a way. Saw a lady coming out from a cafe that was closed for winter season, so asked
her to fill my water bottle. There was a estuary that I needed to walk across
at low tide, and started late this morning to be in time. Walked faster than
expected walking on a sealed road, and arrived at crossing point 2 hours
earlier. Did not want to wait for the time doing nothing, and decided to make a
detour on the road. Last 1 hour my soles of feet became unbearably painful, as
I have been walking on a concrete road for long hours. Changed boots to
sandals. This evening, stayed in a cabin in the Te Ara Roa Campsite, which a
young farmer built along the road in his farmland. $10 donation for one night
stay. Had a good chance to get wet tent, sleeping bag and clothes dry. The name
of the farm was Ara Roa that the campsite name comes from. Walked 20km (actual
distance was 27km including detour) today.
本日の歩行20km(迂回したので実質27kmほど)
