The route followed beaches yesterday & today and luckily low tide time was at around midday both days.  Left the hotel at 8:30 and walked towards Invercargill along Oreti beach.  The beach located on the other side of point that I walked yesterday but the condition was totally different.  The sand was hard enough to drive and the sea was shallow for a good distance from the shore.  The easy walking beach reminded me of ninety mile beach that I had walked 9 months ago. Bluff, which has been a long way off at that time, was now just in front of me.

A cloudy day with cold south-westerly.  Heard snow came down to town again today in Queenstown, and mountains in Stewart Island off the shore looked beautiful with snow.  Tones of deep red seaweeds were washed up at a section of the beach and there was a strong smell of the sea in the air.  Route went away from the beach at 13:00 and after 7km walking along the road arrived at Invercargill at 15:00.

Supposed to meet Chiharu here but she was running late due to the snow.  Walked further a path along the estuary for another 4km and towards to State Hightway 1 near the sewage disposal.  Chiharu picked me up and drove to Golden Leaf Apartment.  Stayed in 1 bedroom unit at $101.  Spent the last evening on TA with her happily.  Walked 8 hours, 35km.
